Europol, the European Police Office, was set up in 1992 to handle Europe-wide criminal intelligence. It is based in The Hague, The Netherlands, and its staff includes representatives of the national law enforcement agencies (police, customs, immigration services, etc.). Europol's aim is to help the EU member states co-operate more closely and effectively in preventing and combating organised international crime, in particular: drug trafficking, immigration networks, vehicle trafficking, trafficking in human beings including child pornography, forgery of money and other means of payment, trafficking in radioactive and nuclear substances, terrorism.

Europol, l'Office européen de police, a été institué en 1992 pour traiter les informations sur la criminalité à l'échelle européenne. Son siège est à La Haye, aux Pays-Bas, et son personnel est composé d'agents des services de répression nationaux (police, douanes, et plus efficacement dans la prévention et la lutte contre le crime international organisé, notamment : le trafic de stupéfiants, les filières d'immigration, le trafic de véhicules volés, la traite d'être humains, notamment la pornographie infantile, la contrefaçon de monnaie et d'autres moyens de paiement, le trafic de substances radioactives et nucléaires, le terrorisme.

Está basada en La Haya, Países Bajos, y entre su personal se incluyen representantes de los organismos de aplicación de derecho nacional (policía, aduanas, servicios de inmigración, etc.). El objetivo de Europol es ayudar a los Estados miembros de la UE a cooperar estrecha y eficazmente en la prevención y lucha contra la delincuencia internacional organizada, en especial: tráfico de drogas, redes de inmigración, tráfico de vehículos, trata de seres humanos, incluida la pornografía infantil, falsificación de dinero y de otros medios de pago, tráfico de sustancias radiactivas y nucleares, terrorismo.
